So you’re probably wondering if there’s going to be anything good on TV at Halloween this year? Perhaps you trust the networks enough to provide you with suitable entertainment, or perhaps you’re too tight to go out and buy/rent a horror movie… It’s okay, I understand.
Well, I can help you out a bit here as I have a brief overview of what will be on terrestrial/freeview/satellite TV this Halloween.
I’m not going to go into detail about all the Sky movie channels and all that stuff, just the generally free or cheap programmes for you.
Halloween TV on offer…
After a quick look, the highlights look to be:
The 100 Greatest Scary Moments – 9PM, E4
The Others – 9PM, Film 4
Psychoville Halloween Special – 10PM, BBC2
White Noise – 11PM, Film 4
Black Sheep (comedy horror) – 11:30PM, BBC2
Halloween (again!) – 11:30PM, BBC Four
Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde – 12AM, Sky 1
Dracula – Prince of Darkness – 1:05AM, ITV4
Halloween 5: the Revenge of Michael Myers – 1.55AM, BBC2
Frankly, I’m not overly impressed. I could have picked a much better bunch of movies, and probably ones that would even cost the networks less to screen.
It’s also a shame that there aren’t any interesting spooky documentaries on. I remember a really good one about 3 years ago about ghosts on the London Underground. Why don’t they show that again?
If you do have Sky, you’re likely to have more choice with the Horror Channel, Syfy and channels like CBS Reality.
However, my advice at present… Get yourself a DVD or two!
We’ll be recommending some for you shortly 🙂
Theres never enough Halloween themed programming on, most channels just seem to overlook it.
The Film4 stuff you have here is from last year’s schedule. I made the same mistake a few days ago before contacting them about the dates being wrong, which is when they explained the page is from last year.
Sorry! Just noticed that it wasn’t clear that these listings were for 2010.
Listings for 2011 will be following shortly! Sorry for any confusion!
