My habits over the Halloween period have changed over the years. When I was very young, I attended house parties.
As I matured, I was deemed safe to walk the streets and ‘trick or treat’ with older kids. Soon I could trick or treat without older kids, and before I knew it, I was out on Halloween, drinking alcohol and going on ‘haunted pub’ crawls.
Each activity was fun in its own special way.
However, now that I am older and have family commitments, things have changed.
My idea of a good night on Halloween is now a night in with a bunch of good scary movies, some Halloween food and some Halloween drinks. And of course good company. All in my uber-halloween-a-fied house.
Obviously, the success of such a night depends on a few things. The quality of Halloween food; the imagination with the Halloween themed drinks; the decor and effort taken to make the surroundings suitably spooky; and of course a good selection of horror movies, because on all-Hallowes-eve, there is no time to waste on rubbish.
I highly recommend doing your research on the run up to the big day, and a great place to start looking is Love Horror. They write impartial reviews, so give accurate opinions. I highly recommend them.
