I had a nice suprise this year.
Halloween had passed, and I was obviously feeling pretty down about it. I thought that everything was over for another year.
It was then suggested that the family take a trip to Chessington World of Adventures.
I agreed, and was delighted to see upon my arrival that at the theme park it was still HALLOWEEN!
There were pumpkins and cobwebs everywhere, and to top it all off, the day was pretty over-cast, giving the place a much needed spooky atmosphere.
In certain areas, smoke machines gave the impression of mist, and the Transylvania part of the park was looking particularly cool (as it should).
On top of it all, it was a quiet day as all the kids were at school. So, there was next to no waiting time on all of the rides, which is just what you need at a place like that.
It made me think that either next year, or some time real soon, I will have to make it my mission to get down there for Halloween and get onto the scariest rides when night has fallen. From what I have read online, Chessington makes an even bigger effort in the run up to the big day with staff in themed costumes and so on.
All in all, a great day out during the darkest time of year!
