Top 5 Halloween Light Shows on YouTube

Good lighting is always important for Halloween parties, but have you ever considered putting together halloween light shows?

It may sound excessive to some, but as the prices of putting on flashy lighting displays come down, more people are transforming their homes into stages for magnificent (and in some cases terrifying) Halloween light shows.

And what better place to check out some fine examples of these spectacles than the world’s most popular video sharing platform, YouTube.

We’ve searched extensively to find shows to leave you in awe and perhaps give you inspiration for your own halloween decorations this year.

We bring you Halloweenerrific’s…

Top 5 Halloween Light Shows on YouTube

5. The Wests Halloween lightshow – thriller

An excellent song choice and an excellent Halloween light show.
There are graves, there are pumpkins, there’s a creepy face that is synced to the lyrics of the song AND… There’s a giant godzilla!
Ticks all my boxes.

4. Deadmau5

Upping the tempo a bit, and maybe simplifying then ligting a touch (although the creators of this may disagree), this creepy looking house is transformed into a pumping sound machine.
The light pulses in perfect timing to the tune and the style of the house only goes to complement the show.

3. Ghostbusters light show

This is what we’re talking about. Someone gets a whole bunch of lights together, rigs them up, adds in some clever voice synced lighting, and after much (I’m sure) preparation, gets everything to work together and create a live Halloween music show, right in their lawn.
And you can’t do much better than the Ghostbusters theme as a song choice, particularly when a charismatic skull is doing the singing.

2. Haunted house video mapping

Video mapping is a very exciting medium for Halloween light shows. The trick is to create a virtual map of the building in questionon a computer, then create animations that can be projected onto that map. It’s pretty labour intensive and often expensive to do, but the end result is jaw droppingly good.
It may only be a short video, but it gives you some idea of the massive potential. No doubt we’ll see lots more of this bring used for Halloween in the coming years.

1. Halloween Gangnam Style

Right, the song choice might not be ideal for Halloween but there’s no disputing the skills of the creator here to synchronise the lights and sounds perfectly.
Over 8500 lights and 250 channels of computer animation were needed to pull this off.
The range of expressions on the main scary face make the singing look amazing, backed up by the other faces on the first floor that act as backing singers.
The range of colours used keeps things interesting and every now and then it all goes quiet and dark before springing back into life. It must look pretty freaky to the people driving past in their cars.

So there you have it, five of the best Halloween Light shows to be found on Youtube at the moment. We can’t wait to see what goodies this year has in store!
