There are obviously good reasons why the US has more cool stuff (the products are more popular out there for one). But either way, we had a little think and came up with three Halloween decorations that Halloweenerrific would love to see on sale in the UK for Halloween 2011.

Lawn Zombies

It’s easy to get carried away decorating your home for Halloween, but neglecting one important thing – your gardens. I mean, what good is a spooky looking house without some tombstones on the lawn or something right?
Well, if you want to go one better, why not make it look as if you have the undead digging themselves out of your turf? It’s sure to be a real crowd pleaser.

There are a few places selling ‘lawn zombies’ but none are quite as convincing as those on the Spirit Halloween site:

Using the zombie is pretty straight forward, you just place it where you need it. I guess the only challenge is positioning it where it’s going to have the most impact.

They’re definitely one thing that it would be nice to have on sale here next year.

Spooky Shadows Light

We featured this on Halloweenerrific some time back, and at present, we can’t find anywhere in the UK that stocks it.
A bit of Halloween lighting can make all of the difference when you’re putting on an All Hallows party, but it can often be fiddly and expensive to get good results.
For this reason, the Spooky Shadows light has a lot of appeal. Just one device can give a great atmosphere and at a very reasonable price too.
It’s pretty simple, you plug it in and the shapes rotate around the light inside. Think of it like a baby mobile, but evil.

Animated inflatable vampire

I don’t know about you, but I love inflatable decorations. As long as they’re not punctured that is.

I personally feel that there isn’t enough of this type of decoration in the UK and would love to see stockists pay them more attention.
As well as looking good, they generally pack away very small, meaning that you don’t need to have a lot of loft space to store it.

This little guy is particularly good as he is big, lights up, and even rises out of the coffin all by himself. Can you imagine the amusement/scares that would bring at your Halloween party?

Want to play a (decorating) game?

Lets start with some wall decorations. How about a nice little picture of Jigsaw looking all cute on his tricycle? Or perhaps the head of that horrible pig costume (which you can also buy here – Pig costume) hanging on your wall?

The sort of thing that you’d probably want to frame and keep on the wall all year long right? Thought so.

Anyway, that’s just the beginning.

You can also buy a door cover which pictures the Jigsaw doll, this time with eyes that actually glow.
And even a real size (probably) Jigsaw doll head which you can hang somewhere – guaranteed to freak people out.

In addition, for dressing up, you can get a John Kramer mask as seen on the cover of Saw 6, you know, the one which is basically his skin being held on by straps (nice).
If you haven’t already mentally pounded your guests into submission, you can also get a Jigsaw puppet mask which should really cement your place as the biggest saw fan and probably most terrifying party host ever.

That has to be it, right?

If, after this you still feel that something is missing, why not invest in a 12″ Jigsaw Doll?
It might not pedal up and talk to your guests (probably a good thing that he won’t, otherwise they will probably leave – fast) but he sure could scare the bejesus out of them.

They have got so much stuff, it’s actually quite hard to comprehend. Halloween beads, Halloween decorations, Halloween sweets, stickers, cards, masks, costumes, lanterns… It just seems endless. I’m not sure how they did it, but they filled a whole little magazine with the stuff. Could it be that they care more about Halloween than even I do?

One thing that I really liked about their products is that they aren’t all just things to buy. There are also things to make. Take the ‘design a mask‘ kit for example, or the witches hat making kit. They encourage the kids to have fun preparing for Halloween, which is just as much fun as the day itself. Anything that encourages kids to be creative has got to be a good thing, and if us adults get to join in too, it’s all the better!

The products are mostly original too, so you won’t be getting this stuff anywhere else.

Show me the money

Yes, they’re reasonably priced too, and they even have free delivery when you spend over £50, which wouldn’t actually be that hard to do considering the amount of great stuff that they have.
Normal postage is pretty reasonable anyway.

If you’re into the classics, there’s the Pride and Pejudice Zombies calendar (pictured right), an official Max Brooks Zombie Survival Guide calendar (with zombie survival tips added),  calendars with images from old horror movies, or if you want something really unconventional – a Fold Your Own Zombie calendar – it’s all there!

You don’t HAVE to give your calendar as a present on Halloween either (although it would obviously be excellent if you did).
You could of course save it for a Christmas present. It would kick the arse of those other ‘kitten’ or ‘country landscapes’ ones that usually go round.
Just imagine the smile on your granny’s face when she build her first paper zombie – priceless.
