Floating head (DIY).

Here’s another cool effect if you REALLY want to go all out this Halloween.
It’s particularly good if you want to scare trick or treaters as they pass your home.

All you need is a small TV, DVD player, a sheet of perspex and a particular DVD that you need to buy – however, you could probably find it cheap on ebay. Or, if you have a camera, you could have a go at making your own film to show.

Severed head Prop(DIY).

Yep, you read it right. I have devised a great way to add a severed head to your Halloween display without having to pay a load of money, or decapitate one of your loved ones. Plus, it’s VERY cheap and very simple.

All you will need to this short demo is the following…

Materials/Equipment

1. A polystyrene (styrofoam) head. Similar to those used in shops to display hats and things.
2. Something sharp to shape the head (I used a small, toothed knife).
3. Some acrylic paint. Well, that’s what I used anyway. It’s important not to use solvent based paints as this will disolve the polystyrene, which kind looks cool, but can get messy.
4. Some imagination and a good idea of what you want the head to look like.

How to make a gravestone or tombstone (DIY).

Okay, so you’re planning a little party, and you’re wanting to make your haunted home look really good.

Every good spooky mansion needs certain elements to make it qualify as a truely ‘horrifying household’.
One such element, is gravestones. Either in the back garden, or if you don’t have one, around the house will do.

You can buy decent gravestones at various places, ranging from small plastic glow-in-the-dark stones, to larger, more realistic stones made from polystyrene or styrofoam.

But why spend good money on a pre-made prop, when you can make one yourself, at low cost – having lots of fun in the process.

Luckily for you guys, I found a great tutorial on this on Youtube, check it out: Make a tombstone
