Make your own atomic slime (DIY).

slime2 Make your own atomic slime (DIY). Slime. It’s never around when you need it.
So it’s a good job that I managed to find a good little tutorial on Youtube that teaches you how to make your own, safe, atomic, UV reactive slime.slime 300x300 Make your own atomic slime (DIY).

All you need is some PVA, borax and some dye (preferably glow in the dark stuff).

The instructions are simple and the stuff looks great fun! Plus, the site that made the video are keen to get us all to appreciate the ‘science’ side of it too, so it’s slime that teaches you stuff!

Glow in the dark brains (DIY).

Brains… Always good to have around. Whether you’re using them to think of something creative to do at Halloween; eating them (if you’re a zombie); or using them to decorate your home.brains 300x300 Glow in the dark brains (DIY).

I bought a brain-shaped jelly mould a couple of years back and it’s always great to use for a bit of Halloween desert, although it can be a little off-putting at times.

Floating head (DIY).

Here’s another cool effect if you REALLY want to go all out this Halloween.
It’s particularly good if you want to scare trick or treaters as they pass your home.

All you need is a small TV, DVD player, a sheet of perspex and a particular DVD that you need to buy – however, you could probably find it cheap on ebay. Or, if you have a camera, you could have a go at making your own film to show.

Severed head (DIY).

Yep, you read it right. I have devised a great way to add a severed head to your Halloween display without having to pay a load of money, or decapitate one of your loved ones.

All you will need to this short demo is:

1. A polystyrene (styrofoam) head. Similar to those used in shops to display hats and things.
2. Something sharp to shape the head (I used a small, toothed knife).
3. Some acrylic paint. Well, that’s what I used anyway. It’s important not to use solvent based paints as this will disolve the polystyrene, which kind looks cool, but can get messy.
4. Some imagination and a good idea of what you want the head to look like.
