This drink, you’ll be happy to hear (unless you’re a vampire) does not taste like blood, or synthetic blood for that matter. Instead, it’s a fruity carbonated beverage.
It’s alcohol free and really does look the part. A great deal of work has gone into making these embossed blass bottles look exactly like those on the show.

It may seem a bit odd at first, but just think about it some more. 12 cocktails, with a theme. The perfect conversation piece for a Halloween party. You could try one or more of them. Better yet, let your guests have one each. You could even have them try to figure out which movie their cocktail represents – although that may be taking things a little too far.

Friday the 13th Halloween cocktails

1. Friday the 13th Part 1

As the first movie is set in the seemingly innocent surroundings of Camp Crystal Lake, it seems fitting to have a cockail inspired by the dark mysterious waters there.

The Crystal Lake Surprise

Something horrible is is floating in it!

Ingredients:

- 2 measures of white rum
- A quarter measure of blue curaçao
- 1 measure of  orange juice
- half a measure of lime juice
- 1 packet of red jelly (jell-o)
- Vodka (optional)

Method:

Cocktail
1. Mix (shake) the rum, blue curaçao and juices with a cocktail shaker over ice.
2. Strain mixture into a chilled cocktail glass.

Surprise

1. Make the jelly (follow instructions on pack).
2. Add the vodka (if desired) and set it in the freezer.
3. Just before the jelly sets, sir it up with a hand whisk.
4. Let it set for at least 5 minutes.
5. Spoon the surprise into the cocktail. It should now float ominously in the water like the body of little Jason Voorhees!

2. Friday the 13th Part 2

The second movie is where we first see Jason as a killer. Although he doesn’t yet wear his infamous hockey mask. Instead he wears a sack over his head, and for this reason, I thought it might be nice to have a brown cocktail to symbolise his bag!

The Brown Bag

A sweet cocktail with a nasty surprise!

Ingredients:

- 1 measure Kahlua coffee liqueur
- 1 measure dark rum
- 2 measures of milk
- 1 small scoop of chocolate ice cream
- 2 teaspoons chocolate powder or cocoa

Method:

1. Mix the milk and alcohol over ice in a cocktail shaker.
2. Strain and pour into a cocktail glass.
3. Add a small scoop of chocolate ice cream and top with a sprinkle of chocolate powder or cocoa.

3. Friday the 13th Part III

Yes, this was the first movie where Jason used the iconic hockey mask, so it seemed only right to come up with a cocktail that somehow resembled it.

The Hockey mask

Ingredients:

- 4 measures of milk (preferably full fat)
- 1 measure of overproof white rum
- 1 measure Irish cream
- Grenadine

Method:

1. Mix (shake) the rum, Irish cream and milk with a cocktail shaker over ice.
2. Strain mixture into a small cocktail glass.
3. Now the fun bit, get creative with the grenadine. Try to make the red droplets resemble the mask and/or blood in some way. It’s kind of hard to explain how exactly…

4. Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter

An odd name for the fourth movie considering that we now know that many more sequels followed. Anyway, enough of the film trivia.
As this was (at some point) intended to be the final chapter, it seemed a good idea to have a strong cocktail that would finish off anyone, even Jason.
Yup, it’s a strong one, so use with caution.

The Killer

Ingredients:

- 1 part Vodka
- 1 part red Aftershock
- 1 part Absinthe
- 3 parts Red Bull (or similar energy drink I guess)

Method:

1. Mix (shake) the Vodka, Aftershock and Absinthe in a cocktail shaker over ice.
2. Pour into a tall cocktail glass and add the Red Bull.

5. Friday the 13th Part V: A New Beginning

After all that strength, it’s time for something a bit more civilised. As you may know, Jason doesn’t really feature so much in this film.
Instead “A New Beginning shifted the focus of the story to the character of Tommy Jarvis, and how he battles his inner demons, hallucinations, and “rages to kill” after his ordeal with Jason in The Final Chapter” – I found that on Wikipedia
Anyway, as Tommy struggles with his demons we can take things easy with a cocktail that is associated, but is also quite mild in comparrison to our last.

Red Haze

Ingredients:

- 1.5 Measures De Kuyper Triple Sec
- 1 Measure De Kuyper
- Sparkling Mineral Water

Method:

1. Half fill a tall cocktail glass with ice.
2. Pour in the Triple Sec and Crème De Cassis.
3. Top up with the sparkling water and stir gently.

6. Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives

Yep, Jason is back and he’s bad. Accidentally brought back to life with the help of a long piece of metal and some lightning (don’t ask) Voorhees was soon back to what he did best – killing teenagers.
To celebrate his return, I decided to add a new twist to a classic cocktail.

The Voorhees Corpse Reviver

Ingredients:

- 1 measure gin
- 1 measure Cointreau
- 1 measure vermouth
- 1 measure fresh lemon juice
- Dash of absinthe (use sparingly)
- Strawberry jam (just a small dollop)

Method:

1. Pour the liquid ingredients into a shaker over ice and shake that thing.
2. Perpare a cocktail glass for your mixture, adding a small dollop of strawberry jam to the bottom ot it. This will just fizzle at the bottom and add a bit of fruity sweetness.
3. Strain the ingredients into the glass.

Thirsty for more?

Well, this post is growing at an alarming rate and we’re only half way there.

Yes, it’s odd isn’t it? Quite how a film company goes in the direction of beer brewing I’m not sure, but who cares as long as it looks good and tastes good eh?

Unfortunately, it’s still a little early to comment on either of those things at the moment, as by the looks of their web-site, the Hammer House of Beer isn’t really fully running yet.

However, they do have a lable for their ‘Curse of Frankenstein’ beer  which looks great for two reasons. First off, the label has a creepy Frankenstein’s monster on it and secondly the beer is a Pale ale which is 7% or so alcohol! Pretty strong!
If it tastes good, they could actually be onto a winner. Shame they missed Halloween this year though, I definitely would have tried some…

And so, to the zombie energy drink! YAY!

Created in a laboratory completely by accident, this drink is actually the bi-product of government genetic experimentation and is harvested from the livers of real zombies. It’s their bile!

Okay, it’s not really. But it would be cool if it was huh? Not sure if I’d drink it, but cool either way.

Instead, here are two energy drinks that taste great, look excellent and contain a lot of caffein, so if you’re hoping to be able to stay up late on Halloween this could be what you need to keep going!

Both the red (human) blood and the zombie blood come in packets that look a lot like those blood bags that they have at hospitals.
The red one is a mixed fruit flavoured drink and the green zombie one is lime flavoured. Both are likely to get you a lot of odd/admiring/horrified looks from strangers if you whip one out and stard drinking it in public – particularly if you’re in costume!

I mean, check the woman out to the right. If you saw her doing that in the street what would you think? Yup, VAMPIRE!

I have many sources for my marvellous recipes, but this latest concoction is 100% original to Halloweenerrific, so you’ve seen it here first people (hence the trademark).

The inspiration for the Frankenslammer was a delicious new flavour of Innocent smoothy that recently appeared on the shelves of my local supermarket – Kiwis Apples and Limes flavour.
It’s fruity and tangy, and best of all for a Halloween cocktail, it’s green!

Here’s what you’ll need for this unique Halloween slammer…

Halloween cocktail Ingredients

- One Innocent Kiwis, Apples and Limes Smoothy – Either a bottle if you only want to make a couple, or a carton if you’re intending on making a few.
- Blue Curacao
- Vodka
- Grenadine

It’ll also help if you have a large shot glass and pourer to make the mixing bit easier.

Method

1) First pour in the smoothy, not too much as you want space for everything else.
2) Next, add the vodka. Depending on the size of the glass and the desired strength you may want to add a lot or a little. Hey, that’s something else that’s great about the Frakenslammer, it’s versatile!
3) Now stick your pourer onto the top of the bottle of grenadine. You want to pour a little amount of it into the glass and the pourer should help it to sink right down to the bottom of the glass. It’s best to pour in the liquid next to the edge of the glass to make it work.
4) Now it’s time for the blue bit in the middle. After removing the pourer from the top of the grenadine and giving it a rince (unless you have more than one pourer) switch it to the Blue Curacao bottle.
Pick up a teaspoon and turn it upside down and pour a dash of Blue Curacao onto the top of the upturned spoon. This should ensure that the liquid hangs in the middle of the glass.

The end result, a delicious tasting and very cool looking slammer! One hell of a Halloween cocktail!
